What is DABA ?

Section of 1900's era buildings in Downtown AlpharettaDowntown Alpharetta Business Association (DABA), is a non-profit organization established in 1994 to promote Downtown Alpharetta. DABA members care about the success of the Central Business District and are mostly CBD business owners and property owners. Our diverse CBD consists of residences, churches, parks, city buildings, the Welcome Center, restaurants, schools, offices, and businesses — bringing thousands of folks to our downtown every day.  We believe that business prosperity is good for all of Alpharetta. What is the CBD?

The Central Business District (CBD) (Excellent one page map in PDF, 84k) of downtown Alpharetta is somewhat of a rectangle bordered by Mayfield Road to the North, Old Milton Parkway to the South, Haynes Bridge Road Extension to the East, and Roswell/Canton Street to the West. The City of Alpharetta's Unified Development Code (UDC)** contains more detailed information than you would ever want to know about our CBD.

The center of the CBD is considered to be the City Hall intersection- North/South Main Street, and Academy St./ Milton Ave. The CBD contains homes, churches, parks, city buildings, our Welcome Center, Milton High School, restaurants, schools, and a variety of businesses -- a very diverse group of downtown occupants!

DABA Membership & Governance

Membership in DABA is open to ANYONE with an interest in downtown Alpharetta. Members enjoy discounts from other members, plus the all important business networking and marketing opportunities. JOIN TODAY!!!

DABA operates through its Board of Directors — 14 members (plus a city designee) who meet monthly to plan and approve business details relating to the operation of DABA. Our officers — President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer — are members of the Board of Directors and responsible for carrying out the affairs of DABA within the guidelines set forth in the DABA By Laws.

Every three months, a general membership meeting open to all members is held with interesting guest speakers. This is an evening gathering, typically at a downtown Alpharetta restaurant. In the past, guest speakers have included elected officials, contractors from downtown construction projects, school representatives, and planning department staff. These meetings serve as an opportunity for business owners to not only meet each other but to discuss current topics that impact our community.
